Edith Cowan University, named after the first woman elected to an Australian Parliament, is located in Perth, Western Australia. ECU is a forward-looking institution noted for its innovative content of courses which attracts one third of university students in Western Australia. The present student population stands at nearly 20,000. Students are presently undertaking study in over 160 courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to Australian students, the University has more than 1,600 international students who originate from more than 60 countries. ECU has three campuses located in and around the city of Perth. There is the South West Campus situated in Bunbury which is 200 kilometres south of Perth, the Mount Lawley Campus near the vibrant Downtown area of Perth and the Joondalup Campus which is located in the metropolitan area of Perth. Each campus offers a different experience and extensive state-of-the-art facilities. ECU is well known for their excellence in the Sports Science field as well as many others.
