Living in Perth
Perth is truly one of the world's most stunning cities. It is located on the Pacific Rim, between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Its climate is similar to that of California, with warm, dry summers and mild winters. The nearby Indian Ocean provides the perfect environment for many outdoor activities and sports as there are white sandy beaches and clean water. Swimming, scuba diving, surfing, fishing and many other activities make Perth the perfect place for an outdoor lifestyle. Perth is a bustling and modern city with a lower cost of living as compared to Australia's Eastern cities. The Swan River meanders through the city making the downtown core. Its uncrowded streets and relaxed style of living make Perth known as the most "livable" city in Australia.
Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary)
The Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) requires one year (two semesters) of full-time study. The units are drawn from curriculum, foundation and teaching studies. As secondary school teachers are usually employed to teach more than one school subject, it is a requirement that students undertake a minor study in a second curriculum area. The units are scheduled over two semesters in sequence. A total of ten weeks field experience is undertaken and consists of supervised teaching segments and teaching assignments. There is also additional experience in schools in connection with academic units.

The classes for the Graduate Diploma of Education are offered at the main campus, the Bentley Campus. It is close to all public transport and is only six kilometers from Perth's city centre. All facilities are available at the Bentley Campus, such as a medical centre, banks, sports complexes, an international office, advanced computer facilities and many other resources that our students will need.

Curtin University offers the teacher education courses at the secondary level only.

Testimonials
Thank you Teach for all your help. I am now going into my second week of studies in the Graduate Diploma of Education program at Curtin and I'm absolutely thrilled. The professors are fantastic, the courses fun and interactive and the campus is beautiful. After spending some time settling into the City of Perth and my living accommodations, I feel like I'm becoming apart of the Australian culture. It also helps that Australians are a very friendly and inclusive people! Australia is definitely a beautiful country and having spent some days in Syndey and the surrounding areas before flying to Perth, I can definitely say there is so much to see and do. Thank you once again for all your help and guidance in the application process.
